“Jake the Dog” Books

Karen LeFrak, author of Jake the Philharmonic Dog and Jake the Ballet Dog, wanted a web site to feature each book and its illustrations by Marcin Baranski and be fun for kids and adults. We created five custom Flash games based on the story of each book to expand on the books’ educational theme of teaching children about the orchestra and the ballet.

Each page of the web site has a different custom theme based on the varied and colorful illustrations in the books, but with a consistent navigation system to tie the content together. Visit this site >>

Roger Roth

A portfoilio site featuring the art of children’s author and commercial illustrator Roger Roth. We worked with one of Roger’s illustrations from his book The Sign Painter’s Dream and animated it in Flash to create the header for the web site. The Flash animation incorporates sound and motion in the navigation buttons and features several surprise on click events. Visit this site >>

Matthew McElligott

Promotional site for children’s book author and illustrator Matthew McElligott.

This site had to organize a large number of pages, so we split the content into main categories in the navigation bar and created folding sub menus that appear when clicking the main menu items.

The site features a searchable blog which Matt uses to record the events at his author visits. This write ups help prospective author visit clients see what Matt can do and what schools can do in preparation for the visit.

There are also several Flash animations throughout the site. On the Books pages of the site, animations and movies bring Matt’s illustration techniques to life. In the Games and Activities area of the site, there is a Flash MP3 player to listen to “Backbeard’s Pirate Radio,” and games highlighting the educational themes of several of Matt’s books.
